Another tidbit of information came my way from the Nature Conservancy where, we as a group of citizens, can get bundles of 100 trees and an average of $32 per bundle. There are a lot of different varities left for this spring.

Their websight is www.dnt.in.gov/dnr/forestry

Yes, Tim, he is still on the Tree Board but we're not sure who sits with him on same.

No, I do not think he will champion any cause brought by me, especially me.

As I accidentally got smacked in the face by a child with a balloon (no big deal, my 3 year old grandchild was running around with his own and no, it didn't hurt); he made the comment he has been wanting to do that to me for a long time.

It will probably have to be a "community" kind of thing, if there are enough of us to go around interested in this particular subject.

You can't have enough trees, for all kinds of reasons.

Thanks for your comment. If you find who else sits on the Tree Board, please let us know. We have volunteers with trucks, if we can find the city they listed (which doesn't show on my atlas). And, I'm sure we would have plenty of volunteers from all the neighborhoods to help out.

Peace, NA. Sure wasn't peace for some in the middle of the night last night...I've heard about it and I'm at a loss of words to even begin to know what to say, or how appalled and upset I feel.

To me, why can't we have a "civil" disagreement? Why try and destroy someone's life, literally? It doesn't matter how I feel about the person or what I think about the person; I could never stoop to the violence perpetuated in the middle of the night.

Be real safe out there NA. My prediction was there would be blood on the street before this election was over...I was not kidding. May 8th can not arrive soon enough for me.

But what happened? Was it in the newsppaer?

I dunno if it was in the newspaper; I wouldn't think it would be published until tomorrow as the police report was probably filed this morn...

What happened? Until we all know for sure (as the facts) emerge, I'll keep it to myself.

A clarification needs to be made by me here, personally, as to my last comment.

As I am now privy to the first incident of vandalism happening against a candidate the night after a letter appeared on their blog; another incident happened against a candidate Monday night.

Yes, there was a police report filed on the first incident; haven't found out if there was one filed on the second. The car was seen at the scene (daggone, I'm a poet and don't know it) -- but anyways, keep your eyes open for a white or light colored station wagon. Can't be too many of 'em around.

Thank you for allowing me to make the proper corrections.

Today's Tribune reported the theft of more than two dozen signs for 1st district candidate Theresa Timberlake.

As for letters appearing on a blog, that certainly narrows it down. I hope Erik's, uh, anonymous?

Another candidate had their property vandalized the night of the "spaghetti" supper. Didn't know about Timberlake's signs; there seems to be a "Scharlow" & "England" war going on at the Daycare out on E 8th across the tracks, next to Watco. The public right of ways surely are clogged; illegally.

Thanks for the info.
